Unlike most of "love songs", 'Somebody Like You' is about loosing a friendship. We rarely talk about it and yet, everybody has already experienced it at least once in its life. With this song, Aaricia digs deeper into the spirit of her whole album (out at the end of the year) - the contrast between how people behave and what they actually think. In this song, you may think from the verses that she's vulnerable and powerless, only so you can get hit even harder by the powerful chorus.
lyrics
[Verse 1]
I wish I never met
Someone like you
No one else is ever gon’ do
The things we did
If they only knew
I can’t look at you the same
[Pre-Chorus]
I’ve been trying to erase the things you said
But I got that stupid song playing in my head
Somebody, somebody, somebody like you
Oh I wish I never met
[Chorus]
Somebody, somebody, somebody like you
Somebody, somebody, somebody like you
Oh I wish I never met
[Verse 2]
It’s hard to stay
Or to be just friends
When I still taste your lips on mine
At every sight it gets harden and
I don’t have the strength for this
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh I wish I never met
[Chorus]
